MARTA TO CELEBRATE NEW PATHWAY TO STATIONSOCCER FIELDS AT KENSINGTON STATION

ATLANTA - The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), along with its public art program Artbound and transit-oriented development (TOD) team, will host a ribbon-cutting celebration for a large crosswalk mural at Kensington Station on Friday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m.

The crosswalk mural runs from Kensington Station to the StationSoccer fields almost 400 feet away, creating a safe pathway for children who ride MARTA to their soccer matches. Artist Melissa A. Mitchell designed the mural and her vision was installed with help from Art in the Paint Corporation, a company that assists with transferring artistic murals to asphalt. Mitchell’s work complements the existing murals at Kensington by artist Kevin Bongang.
